Atman Law Partners
Atman Law Partners is a business law firm based in South India and provides corporate transactional and litigation services across India to domestic and overseas clients.
The Name
Atman [pronounced 'aath' as in path - 'mun' as in one] is a Sanskrit word that can best be translated into English as 'divine essence' or the 'soul', and reflects both our desire to be centered and to retain the best features of Indian tradition and culture in our practice of law.
Our Approach to Law Practice
Our practice of law distinguishes itself with its focus on providing grounded, honest advice and timely assistance to our clients.
The founding partners have strong in-house counsel experience and this has influenced the firm's culture as a business-oriented law firm. We train our attorneys to adopt a practical business-sensitive approach but to keep within the boundaries of the law and legal ethics. It is our endeavour always to communicate clearly and honestly with clients.
The firm is particularly agile in servicing clients and keeping deadlines. We are early adopters of legal technologies and implement a number of them in our practices.
Our objective is to make available to clients, the ease of access and tight integration that is afforded by working with inhouse counsel, while at the same time providing accountability, depth of experience, services and standards of a traditional multi-city law firm.
For instance, we pay special attention to attending to client calls, understanding client concerns, providing time estimates on deliverables, keeping the client "in the loop" at all times and providing complete transparency to the work-inprogress. We believe in educating clients on legal risks associated with their business enterprises, and helping client corporations manage such risk effectively.
We focus on building a strong professional culture that encourages candour within the firm, client confidentiality and results while providing a great environment for select professional attorneys - It goes without saying that we are conservative in our hiring practices.
